Zandvoort lives off the sea. The boulevard, the row of beach pavilions, the dunes and the circuit draw visitors all year round, from a sunny summer day to a grey out-of-season storm. That location makes it an appealing but demanding place to set up equipment. HuurAV works here from Amsterdam and delivers the complete production: light, sound, video and special effects, together with the technicians who build and operate everything on site. Whether it is a private dinner in a pavilion or an open-air programme with the wind full on the beach, we match every setup to the spot and to what the weather allows that day.

On the coast, the weather is never an afterthought. A sound setup on the sand calls for a different approach than an indoor venue further inland: we position speakers so the sound carries without blowing away, shield equipment against moisture, salt and drifting sand, and make sure the image stays legible in bright dune light or, conversely, an overcast sky. We make those choices in advance, in the design, so that on the day itself you do not have to worry about the conditions outside.

Suitable events and locations

The pavilions, hotels and the circuit area determine what is possible in Zandvoort. For businesses we set up corporate events with sea views as a natural backdrop, and for knowledge days or annual gatherings we provide presentations and conferences with polished speech reinforcement and image. A beach pavilion or a terrace along the boulevard lends itself perfectly to parties and company parties, and for a wedding with the surf in the background we build an atmospheric setup that can handle wind and evening chill. What we bring technically

We assemble every production component by component, matched to the programme and location:

• Sound: from a compact set for a dinner in the pavilion to a powerful setup for a beach party, with wireless microphones and monitoring for speakers, band or a booked DJ.
• Light: ambient and stage lighting that gives a pavilion or outdoor location character, with control that moves with the flow of the evening and the dusk falling over the sea.
• Video: large screens or projection, cameras and image direction for presentations, recording or a livestream to those following from a distance.
• Special effects: light haze to make the beams visible, low fog for an opening moment or confetti for the highlight of the evening.

On every assignment, one of our technicians stays at the controls throughout the entire programme, someone who knows the setup inside and out and can adjust immediately if the wind shifts or the light changes.

Travelling in and setting up from Amsterdam

The drive from Amsterdam to Zandvoort is about 30 kilometres via the A5 and the N200 past Haarlem. Outside rush hour we are usually there within three quarters of an hour. The boulevard and the beach access points do call for consultation in advance: the nearest unloading spot, the way we move equipment across the sand or the promenade and the available power together determine how we set up. On peak days around the circuit we also factor crowds and road closures into the travel times. Our technicians are on site well before the start, test the entire chain and stay present to operate it and break everything down neatly afterwards.
