It starts with advice. In a conversation we map out what kind of event you are organising, who your guests are, what mood you have in mind and what the budget is. We ask questions you may not yet have considered, about the layout of the room, the moments that should stand out and the way your event develops through the evening. From that conversation a clear picture emerges of what is needed.

Next we create a design and light plan. That is the translation of your wishes into a concrete plan: which fixtures go where, which colours and positions belong to which moment, and how the evening builds up. A good light plan takes into account the room, the sightlines, the available power and the logistics of build-up. That way you know exactly what you get in advance.

On the day itself we handle the build-up. Our team places the fixtures, hangs truss where needed, tucks away the cabling neatly and makes sure everything looks refined. We work clean and structured, because the build-up is part of the end result. Cables are tucked away, stands stand out of sight and nothing lies in your guests’ walking routes.

Then comes the DMX control, the programming of the lighting. Via DMX we link all fixtures to a central control, so we can regulate colours, positions and transitions in detail. Before the doors open we always run a test. We go through every moment, check every fixture and fine-tune the last details, for example based on how the room will look with guests present. That way we take out any surprises before your event begins.

Finally, the operation. During your event our technician is on site to steer the lighting live. Every transition happens at the right moment, and if the programme runs over or changes, we simply move with it. You focus on your guests, we keep the lighting on track.

Practical matters we look after

To begin with, we look at power. Lighting demands capacity, and especially at larger productions with many fixtures or moving heads the power supply must be right. We map out in advance which circuits are available, distribute the load and make sure nothing fails at the moment the room is full. At outdoor locations without a fixed connection we arrange the power supply as well.

In addition, safety is a fixed part. We calculate truss structures and fixtures at height for load and secure everything according to the applicable guidelines. Cables on the floor we tuck away neatly or cover, so no one trips. A refined build-up is not only attractive, but also safe.

We also take timing and logistics into account. When can we get into the room, how much time is there for build-up, when must everything be ready and how does the tear-down go afterward? We coordinate that planning with the venue and any other suppliers, so the build-up fits smoothly into the whole. Because we often provide sound and video as well, we can align those disciplines and avoid duplicate work.
