Multiple sessions in one room without overlap

A silent presentation turns the idea of a classic auditorium on its head: the sound lives in the visitor’s headphones, not in the room. Every visitor receives a wireless headset and chooses their own channel. This lets you run several speakers or sessions at the same time in the same space without them drowning each other out. It is ideal for a silent conference, an information fair with different topics side by side, or a venue where you do not have separate rooms available.

HuurAV takes care of the complete setup in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. We supply the headphones, the transmitters per channel, the microphones for the speakers and the technology for the slides, plus the technicians who install, test and support everything. The result is a programme in which every visitor hears exactly the session they want to follow.

Technology, setup and testing on site

We start with a short assessment of the space, the number of visitors and the number of channels you need. On the day itself we set up well before the start: we position the transmitters, link each speaker to their channel, charge and count the headphones and test each channel separately for range and clear sound and intelligibility. This matters all the more with a silent presentation, because a weak signal or a wrongly linked channel is something the visitor notices immediately.

If you want visitors to see the slides as well, we set up visuals, screens and projection per session with a large screen or projection, so image and sound line up neatly. Practical points to consider

A silent presentation calls for a few things that work differently than in an ordinary auditorium. We like to keep the handout and collection of the headphones running smoothly, especially with a larger group, so we handle this at the entrance with clear arrangements and numbered channels. Also count on someone to manage the channels, switch speakers over and keep an eye on the batteries; our technical support stays on hand for as long as the programme runs.

Think carefully in advance about how the channels are laid out. If you let visitors switch between sessions, it helps when it is clear which channel belongs to which speaker, for example with a colour or a number. If you deliver the presentations and the running order on time, we coordinate everything so each session ends up on the right channel and the right screen.
